Something old, something new - Museum of London Blogger in Residence
Yes, it's true! I am very proud to announce that I will be writing for the Museum of London as their Blogger in Residence. The aim is to bring a look behind-the-scenes to the daily work of the Museum as well as objects from the collections, upcoming exhibitions, as well as the many exciting projects going on behind the walls of the world's largest urban history museum. Although my main focus here on Georgian London is the 18th century, blogging for the Museum will take me from pre-history in the Thames Valley to modern day London, via prison hulks, plague victims, and unearthed medieval pavements right here in the City. My first post is here, and next week I will be writing about Shakespeare's first theatre, located in Shoreditch and how one recent midsummer's evening I got to be a groundling while famous actors played Oberon and Titania just as they had over four centuries ago.
